What is Messy Church?

Messy Church is our new monthly service at New Life Community Church Milnrow. It is especially suited to families with primary school aged children and where adults and children enjoy the activities together.

Messy Church uses hands-on activities to explore Bible stories, to reflect a God of creativity and to give people a chance to play together. It reflects a God of joy who wants his people to have life in all its fullness.

Messy Church is part of The Bible Reading Fellowship (BRF), a Registered Charity. www.brf.org.uk

What happens during a Messy Church session?

There will be lots of crafty activities set up when you arrive at 4pm, and we spend the first hour getting stuck in! All the activities will be based on the theme of the session. Some will be for you to take home and sometimes the activities might be a little bit messy so wearing of old clothes is advised.

At 5pm we'll stop the activities and gather for a game followed by a time of celebration and worship. This short 10 minute service will explore the day's theme a bit more and we will all pray together, sing a song and listen to a bible story or short talk for all to listen to!

After the celebration we sit down together to eat! A meal will be provided for adults and children and we can continue to discuss the theme, or just get to know one another more.

How much does it cost?

It's all free! Though of course, there will be an opportunity to make a donation if you want to.

When is it?

All of our sessions are on Saturday afternoons from 4pm - 6pm.  Check out our Facebook page for details of dates.

Can I leave my children and pick them up later?

Unfortunately not. Messy Church is designed for adults and children to take part in together, so you will need to stay with your child.

Do I need to tell you we're coming?

As spaces are limited you will need to book in advance and bookings will be on a first come basis. If you would like to be informed when the next Messy Church is taking place you can sign up to our mailing list by clicking the button below.
